A troglodyte refuge since ancient times, the Manoir was built in the 15th century at the foot of a hill which would be later dug out for silkworm farming. Soon a monumental cellar replaced it to cater to the new wine-growing activity.
In the late 18th century, a charming, south-facing mansion was built facing the Manoir, in the pure Directoire style. From the two guest rooms you can admire the landscaped terraced garden, composed of various trees going back centuries and a romantic waterfall straddled by a wooden bridge.
An alley of 100 rose bushes crosses the grounds, leading to the heated swimming pool. Here you are invited to wander around, listen to the murmur of the waterfall and birdsong. Perhaps you will spot some of our guests – deer, squirrels and occasionally a lost fox – on the way. And more usually you will come across our cat Donuts, Misha and Grisha the geese or Bob and Alice the carps in the pond, and many others.

Meet your hosts Olga and Olivier who combine their love of Touraine and Sologne to welcome you to the Manoir de la Salle du Roc and share a unique experience with you. This enthusiastic couple is keen to offer their guests the best possible welcome and an authentic getaway in the country while sharing amazing regional produce.
Book a meal at our table d’hôte to enjoy a moment of sharing when we serve you local produce and Loire Valley wines. Olga will delight your taste buds with her scrumptious dishes. You will love her home-made cakes. While Olivier will find the best possible wine pairings and will introduce you to some unknown vintages from the Loire valley wine appellation. Depending on the season, meals are served in the garden, in the orangery or in the dining room. Possibility of vegetarian meals by reservation.

At the Manoir de la Salle du Roc offers you can privatise the orangery, the wine cellar or the troglodyte cave for a family function, with friends, or for a professional or special event. Capacity from 10 to 40 people, depending on the location. We can take care of catering and entertainment with selected partners for turnkey events. Possibility of privatising the entire estate.
